Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
The Code of Conduct establishes the behavioral expectations for all individuals participating in Ta-Seti Academy, Inc. ("the Academy") activities.
Its purpose is to protect the Academy's educational mission by promoting a safe, respectful, lawful, and productive learning environment.
The Code of Conduct should be read together with the Academy's Community Standards, which describe the values and culture the Academy seeks to cultivate.
2. Scope
This Code applies to all participants in Academy-sponsored activities, including:

instructors;

volunteers;

contractors;
-
guest presenters;

staff;

visitors attending Academy events.
It applies to participation through:

student portals;

learning management systems;

workshops;

mentoring activities;

official communication channels;

Academy-sponsored events, whether online or in person.
3. Expected Conduct
Participants are expected to:

communicate respectfully;

comply with Academy policies;

respect the rights and dignity of others;

contribute to a productive educational environment;

follow reasonable instructions from Academy personnel;

comply with applicable laws.
4. Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is prohibited while participating in Academy activities.
Harassment
Conduct that intimidates, humiliates, threatens, or repeatedly targets another participant.
Bullying
Repeated behavior intended to demean, isolate, or undermine another participant.
Discrimination
Unlawful discrimination prohibited under applicable law.
Threats or Violence
Threatening, encouraging, or engaging in violence or unlawful conduct.
Sexual Harassment
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests, comments, or conduct that interferes with participation in Academy activities.
Confidentiality Violations
Unauthorized disclosure of:

private classroom discussions;

student information;
-
Academy records;
-
confidential communications.
Recording Without Permission
Recording or distributing Academy classes, meetings, or presentations without authorization where prohibited by Academy policy or applicable law.
Academic Misconduct
Academic integrity violations are governed by the Academy's Academic Integrity Policy and may also constitute violations of this Code.
Misrepresentation
Knowingly providing false information to the Academy or impersonating another individual.
Technology Misuse
Including but not limited to:

unauthorized system access;
-
malicious software;
-
attempts to disrupt Academy systems;
-
misuse of user accounts.
Commercial Solicitation
Using Academy platforms primarily to advertise, recruit, sell products or services, or solicit participants without Academy authorization.
Unlawful Conduct
Any conduct that violates applicable law while participating in Academy activities.
5. Instructor and Moderator Authority
Academy instructors, moderators, and administrators may take reasonable steps necessary to maintain productive educational environments.
Participants are expected to comply with reasonable classroom management decisions.
Questions regarding instructional decisions should be addressed respectfully through established Academy procedures.
6. Reporting Concerns
Participants are encouraged to report suspected violations of this Code promptly.
Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.
Reports may be submitted through designated Academy reporting channels.
Knowingly false or malicious reports may themselves constitute violations of this Code.
7. Review Process
When a potential violation is reported, the Academy may:

gather relevant information;

communicate with involved parties;
-
review available evidence;
-
determine whether a policy violation occurred;

determine an appropriate response.
The Academy will seek to conduct reviews fairly, impartially, and as promptly as reasonably practical.
8. Corrective Actions
When the Academy determines that a violation has occurred, corrective action will be proportionate to the circumstances.
Possible actions include:

educational guidance;
-
verbal warning;
-
written warning;
-
temporary removal from an activity;
-
restriction of Academy privileges;
-
suspension;
-
dismissal from Academy programs;
-
permanent prohibition from Academy services.
Nothing in this Code limits the Academy's ability to take immediate action when necessary to protect participants, preserve institutional operations, or comply with legal obligations.
9. Appeals
Where provided by Academy policy, participants may request review of certain disciplinary decisions.
Submission of an appeal does not automatically suspend the effectiveness of a disciplinary action unless the Academy determines otherwise.
10. Retaliation
Retaliation against any person who, in good faith:

reports a concern;

participates in a review;
-
provides information;
-
requests assistance;
is prohibited.
Retaliation may result in separate disciplinary action.
11. Relationship to Other Policies
This Code should be interpreted together with the Academy's:

Where multiple policies apply, they should be interpreted consistently whenever possible.

Updated versions become effective upon publication unless otherwise stated.
